[Hello, 338 Brady Lane. There's a sickly young woman sitting at the kitchen table, staring off into space with a shocked look on her face

[Just too lazy to make a four-paragraph long introduction post about how Saya wakes up, goes to the master bedroom with a kitchen knife in hand, ready to to kill her drone mom by silently slitting her throat the same way she does every morning while Howard is still asleep. Saya is pretty good at being clean about it, being careful not to get any blood on her father lest he gets suspicious, before dragging the corpse downstairs and carving it into chunks for breakfast. Storing the remainder away in the fridge for lunch and dinner too, before the carcass disappears by the magical laws of Mayfield and a new drone mom appears in the bed next morning to start the process all over again. It's a daily schedule. Saya comes in exactly six every morning to find the same woman sleeping next to her dad. Every single morning. For the past two months

[Nadia looks up from where she's fidgeting with her skirt, mildly surprised to see Saya. She recognizes her as one of the girls in the photos -- her new daughter, obviously -- and offers a tentative, shaky smile.]
Ah... My name is Nadia. I'm sorry to intrude on your home, but it seems this is my new, ahm, assigned living arrangement?
[She's young, but not too young - maybe twelve or thirteen - yet she seems to be so immature. There is no teenage rebellion in her tone of voice, her attitude.]
[A little later in the morning, Howard comes into the living room, cup of coffee in hand. He had some time before he needed to head off to work, and decided it was best spent catching up on a little reading. Of course, the strange, ATTRACTIVE woman in the room stops him dead in his tracks.]
[By this point, Nadia has acquired tea! She doesn't quite meet Howard's eyes because she's married already and woke up in bed next to a strange man, which is more than a little awkward.]
Oh, ahm. Hello! I'm sorry to intrude; it seems I... live here now. A bit.
I talked to her yesterday. You both must be coming from 5 years in your future? It's only been a few days here. I-I went to see you both just a few days ago, and you were both droned...
Margot said she's on a house on Williams now. 1445. I'll, uh, be over there sometime soon, myself. It'd be great to see you both back to normal.

It's weird...you two were droned the other day...and now you're both back on the phones but you sound a lot older.
How long were you gone?
Reply

[Mothering instincts. Taking over.]
It's a pleasure to meet you, though, Saya.

Oh, uh--
[Hesitates. Awkwardly.]

[Just. Smiling awkwardly. Gotta act cool, gotta act cool.]
Uh, well. It seems to happen here quite a bit, doesn't it?
[Nervous laugh.]
My name's Howard, Howard Moon. And you are...?

Um. Please sit down, I'm sorry to have invaded your couch! [She'll be scooting over to make more room, not that she's taking up much to begin with.]
