I had a mammogram last week. My GYN just called because they want more views and an ultrasound. Now my worry wart side is kicking in ( Read more... )

I've been getting mammograms for many years, and it happens to me frequently. Some breasts are just more 'dense' than others and it's harder for them to see. *hugs* Be sure and get the reshoot done, but I'm sure it will be nothing.

Really? I've never had to be called back, I think that's what's freaking me out. My boss did tell me that what the woman at my GYN's office said was true, about the fatty tissue as we get older, so that's easing my worry a bit too.

I know a lot of people who were called back for something as trivial as a cyst... I'll be hoping that it is nothing, but please do let us know... okay?

I will keep you posted. But I am feeling a lot less anxious knowing this is something many other women go through.

I'm so happy that the internet exists in times like this. If I didn't have the input and experiences of others to go by, I'd have gone nuts by now.

Sweetie, I had the same thing yesterday...i had the mammo on Monday they called me and said the radiologist "SAW" something so back I went yesterday for a SPOT MAMMO and ultrasound...The radiologist did the ultrasound and read the mammo then, It was OK...I know what you are going thru...I was terrified...((HUGS)) try not to worry too much...It's difficult, I know...Will keep you in my thoughts....

Thank you for your comment. I'm so glad I posted this, because all of this support is really lessening my worry.

I'd never been called back, so I immediately thought the worst.

I'm happy yours wound up being okay.

I think I can breath a little easier now.

Thanks! I'm actually glad though, because I'd rather them just want to make sure everything is okay than to just leave it alone.

When is your next appointment?

And hang in there. I know how scary tests can be.

Hopefully it's just some mix-up. My OB/GYN said that they pick up things so much earlier now. If it is anything than hopefully it will be something they can take care of quickly.

I'm going to try to make the appointment for next week. But I feel a little less anxious now. I've been talking to a lot of people, mainly on my pet board, and many of them had the same issues. Many have been called back and right now, I'm thinking it might just be the added fatty tissue I've added.

But, I will keep everyone updated.
