So how in danger are you exactly? Because I don't really have a clear grasp of how terrible the problem is and for who(m?).

I'm not in any danger whatsoever. The winds have changed direction, blowing the fire northeast, and since the (closest) fire is already northeast of me, that means it's headed exactly away from my place. Plus, the air is *much* clearer than it was a few days ago. Lots of people outside of San Diego proper are losing homes and such, but everything closer to the coast is safe. Lucky me, unlucky other people...
