Not really though. My sister's vein collapsed the last time she tried to give blood. The resulting bruise was like a creepy ink blot- people saw lots of different things in it, because it was a big amorphous blob of a bruise. Yeah, maybe stories like the above aren't the best idea when you already have a problem with giving blood. But yeah, there's a chance your vein could collapse and it would be really painful.
