I guess I will introduce myself as Stephen's little brother, since that is likely who I will be referred to, as I always am. Although few people recognize me as one, I am a singer/songwriter. I am often noted as that dorff member that tries to hide from the media. They have even gone so far as to label me a loner. I prefer to explain it away as ( Read more... )

A singer who hides from the media? I'm not sure whether success is assured in this particular case. Of course it works a lot better with song writing. Either way, welcome, Andrew. And let me ask the question everybody in our métier hates to answer: what is your music like?

Yes, prehaps the question I loathe the most, particularly because I think we'd all like to think we're original. I think I am. But, Tom Waits, David Bowie, Leon Redbone, Lou Reed tend to be who I'm usually compared to.

Constantly striving for some sort of uniqueness is what makes us all alike... With my band, we went as far as to call the style of music we were making at the time "Love Metal"... we had this idea that record stores would have to put a rack with "Love Metal" in their facilities and us being the only artist in there. We stopped the silliness when other bands started calling what they did "Love Metal."

I like some of the people you named there. Is your music available in Europe?

Yes, in fact that is largely where my success was/is.

andrew, you know you're always referred as the better half. *g*
you were the last person i would expect to see around here. you caught me in my new, yet embarrassing, hobby.

Stephen, you seriously are off your hinges, me the better half, that actually made me laugh. I am copying your little hobby, exactly what little brothers are supposed to do, right.

if I were any sort of a decent person, I would welcome you and say that it's lovely to make your acquaintance here
however, I suddenly got a wonderful brothers fantasy stuck in my head, so I'll just squeak out a hello and be off
