I was able to pick her up late last night. She is still not out of the woods, but she is doing much better. This whole experience has been eye opening. There was a direct cause and effect relationship to receiving the fluids and her symptoms. I'm glad she's doing better AND home :) Did they check out her thyroid levels?? Heart probs can be masked by hyperthyroidism I learned from Halloween's ordeal like 3 years ago.

Thank you! Dr. Bellis checked her thyroid levels her first night at SVS; it was normal. I definitely think it was hypOkalemia (i've been typing it wrong as hyperkalemia w/o thinking of the hyper/hypo relationship) probably caused by her kidney issues. I took her in on Friday and Dr. Fliegel could not find a heart murmur at all. We are still not sure if she has any underlying cardiac issues which can surface with the treatment of her kidney issues. Right now the real challenge is keeping her hydrated and I'm hesitant to use subcutaneous fluids until we understand more about what we are dealing with.
