THIS happened less than a hundred yards from me. I went into that shop a couple of times a week. They used to give the kids sweets. Blergh... I heard this on the news and hoped it was nobody my friends in Luton knew... I'm so sorry!

Maybe you could send a card or some flowers... I wouldn't know what else to give either. But a few nice words inside a card, like what you just wrote here about what you remember, something like that!

HUGS!!!

That's dreadful. I have recently commenced reading the news and as a result I have started to have nightmares.

Seriously fucked up. Stuff like this just gets me angry/upset and I didn't even know them. I don't really know what to say that's constructive/supportive in this situation. I hope the toerags get a thorough shoeing by the legal system (and with any luck a physical one too resulting in some long term reminder of what they have done).

have to be honest and admit that whenever Luton's in the news these days, there's an instinctive wince, as I can't remember the last time Luton was mentioned for a good reason.

I'm back every six weeks or so, but I'm only in the town for three or four hours at a time (to get haircuts, and see friends [a friend owns the wool shop in the Arndale], and family) and then not back for another six weeks.

I know how you feel hun. The reason we moved from London back to Somerset was that Steph lost 3 friends in the space of 6 months due to stabbings. Even now, news filters back about more violence happening around where we used to live.

When you have kids growing up all the bad stuff seems to get more real and your little part of the world becomes a scarier place.
