The Least PC US Holiday of the Modern Age
Yesterday I learned about a holiday that I had never heard of before. It's a holiday that dates back all the way to 1945, however at this point it is only truly celebrated in Rhode Island. Silver Gloves
I made it back to Providence safely, of course. Now here I sit in this somewhat familiar but till alien little room. I apparently left fruit out in my hurry to leave so it smells weird. My Return
I'm really afraid to go back, I know I have to and I have accepted the fact that I am going to. In 2 hours I'll be going through the motions at the airport preparing for my return. I just hope that my plane doesn't get delayed due to storms in Rhode Island and I don't get stuck longer. But I am armed with a few trusty books, so I should be ok. I ( Read more... ) -

So Mel is pretty much about as thoughtful as it gets and she made my week! She sent me a small package with a note and a few odds and ends in it, but these aren't just odds and ends these are carefully thought out and planned pieces of home and reminders that my friends do miss me and it could not have come at a better time. Here we go again
I really don't like eating alone, especially in a full cafeteria. It's really lonely and in my humble opinion embarassing, less so for me I suppose because I'm staff here and not a student but embarassing nonetheless. The World's Neediest Man and the Sea
This was my first week at Brown and it's great. Right now it is hot as balls and I have the fan pointed directly on me blowing as hard as it's little heart can take, it's barable so long as I stay indoors. Finally Here
I have finally made it to Providence! It's kinda gloomy out and we're supposed to get some pretty bad storms soon but it's really pretty. I can't wait to see it on a beautiful sunny day. When you pull off the highway and enter Providence the first thing you see is the magnificent Rhode Island State Building!
