Rooftop Cafeteria

Rooftop cafeterias would indeed be the preferred idea for designing a cafeteria in a  multi-storey corporate building. It gives employees a total new ambiance from their boring cubicle structures. A mezzanine(I don't know if that's the right term) floor in the middle which could house the cafeteria? Something like in those buildings(commercial, hotel, apartment complexes) which have the swimming pool and can be viewed from all floors but is all open-top. In a 10 storeyed building it may not work but in a 7 storeyed building, 3 floors to climb up/down is not too much exercise!

you are right, ideally it should be in the middle, but most of the buildings here do not have it ! They fancy the roof top cafeteria.

I am wondering if it is something to do with the placement of chimneys?

I have one in my office, Our building has 6 floors and its has 3 Open Cafeteria. One at 3rd, 5th and 6th Floor.

But the access is restricted to people only working in that Floor. That means only the 3rd, 5th and 6th Floor people can enjoy the Open Cafeteria present in the floor they work.

1st, 2nd and 4th Floor people unfortunately don't have that luxury. I work at 5th :)

Its indeed a nice feelings to have coffee and do some chit chat in the open air. Especially when you have lots of trees around your office. The greenery is a pleasure to your eyes.

Well, no matter where it's situated, the lift usage, I feel, will be about the same...

My friend was telling the same thing, that no matter where the floors you want to go, seeing a Lift is tempting for majority of the people.

I agree, but people do try the option of stairs when the wait time for the lifts are longer, provided it is only few stairs up.
