i'm looking at various shell prices online for our tahitian costumes, and i just came upon a page of shells for sale entitled:

univalves: explore the world of gastropods

that just seems wrong.

I totally studied bivalves and gastropods. Can't tell you a damn thing about them (except that gastropod means stomach-foot or something, and I think they include mollusks like clams maybe?), but I studied them at some point. You can borrow my notes if you want. :)
