Jack's apartment in Rome: Saturday morning

It was cold, but Jack didn't care. He was standing on the balcony of his apartment - and he'd never thought he'd ever get to use the thing - drinking coffee and looking out over the city. Cedric had contemplated just flying to Rome but he knew his luck would have him getting lost in some remote part of the world and that wouldn't do anyone any good.

And so there he was, being dumped out of a portal and stumbling across the balcony, bag in one hand and broom in the other.

"Yeah, until I was mounting an expedition to find you in the Himalayas." He wrapped his hand around Cedric's, thumb rubbing rubbing small circles, and he couldn't stop grinning. "Not to mention, this was faster. Means I get to have you for longer."

Sam stepped through the portal with the ease of someone who'd walked through hundreds of wormholes. The only difference was the suitcase she was dragging behind her--which contained clothes more than weapons and testing equipment--and the promise of a good time on the other side.

She looked around for her good time, taking in the gorgeous view of Rome while she waited for him to find her.

"I'm not that strange," he laughed, catching her face between his hands. "You look good, Sam."

Which was about all the talking he could do right then, and he leaned down to kiss her.

Sam was roaming around the apartment, taking everything in and unsure where to put her things. "Cedric is coming, right? Things didn't blow up in Fandom at the last minute?"
