Jack's room, the apartment in Rome: Late Sunday night
Jack had actually fallen asleep, despite his best intentions, tangled in the (clean) sheets, most of them not on him.
He'd meant to stay awake, in the hopes that there'd be a late night visit from Sam, but, alas, it wasn't to be. The staying awake, that is; the late night visit hadn't yet been decided. -
Around Rome: Sunday
The more time they spent wandering around Rome, the more Jack was itching to hop back a few years and see what it looked like before it was ruins. Maybe even head out to some of the surrounding areas, Pompeii sounded like it might be useful.

Jack's apartment in Rome: Late, late Saturday night
Jack was grumpy, or he would have been if he'd been awake. He'd been grumpy before he'd fallen asleep, so it was logical to assume it hadn't gone away.
The grumpiness would be because he was all alone in his rather large bed.
This was not at all what he'd planned. -

It was cold, but Jack didn't care. He was standing on the balcony of his apartment - and he'd never thought he'd ever get to use the thing - drinking coffee and looking out over the city. Sometime in the twentieth-first century - the morning of the first of February, 2008, to be exact - two deliveries were made. One to a house in Boulder, Colorado, one to a room in Fandom, Virginia.
