Critters and Crocs and Crap, oh my!

Jul 05, 2005 07:47

In the past few days, I have encountered various ... critters, for lack of a better word. On Friday night in the Target parking lot, I saw a huge winged insect with big eyes, white pointy teeth, and whiskers. Maybe it had eyebrows, too; I got away from that thing fast, so I don't know. It appeared to be injured, but it was not about to die. ( Read more... )

I'm surprised to hear about your Croc's - Z has worn his every day for work since he got them in October and they seem to be holding up fine. I hope this does not mean a decrease in quality, cause i SO want the fuschia crocs.
That will be my "starting law school" gift to myself in August, unless someone wants to buy me some for my birthday. That would work, too.

Wearing them for work probably wears them down less than walking on the pavement (I say this without knowing what kind of work your friend does, but assuming that it's inside). I don't drag my feet or anything, but we do walk fast (kind of a walk/run), and on the street/paved track. But anyway, I think I have gotten a lot of use out of them, especially considering that they were only $25, so I'm not upset about it, and I still believe that they are made very well. (Besides, it's not like there's a hole in the bottoms, the tread, which is not that deep to begin with, is just almost gone ( ... )

Be sure to try them on -- they run big, and they're supposed to be wide. (I usually wear an 8 in shoes, sometimes 8-1/2.)

Heee! oh i will wear them anywhere. I am renowned for my "daring" fashion sense.
Zak is a chef, so i am not sure - a lot of the kitchens he has worked in (including coops where he is now) have concrete floors. i really fear a decline in quality.
nevertheless, i have enough faith to purchase.
at least they are inexpensive :)

I will take some pictures soon! The plastic ones (snail, owl, turtle) came from Big Lots, and they're all cheap on clearance now ... you could have one of your very own, and flaunt your bad taste to everyone!

I'll try to get some later today. I promise you, this shit is ugly ... but funny.

Now that I think of it, I would like to have some very tacky ladies to put in the yard, too. Maybe plastic ones, in swimsuits (or naked). Hmm.

I have been wanting some statuary for my 'garden', but all the garden stores charge ridiculous amounts for the cute gnomes and stuff. I will now try the dollar store. Maybe I can out-tacky my trashy neighbors. But there is this one thing. When I walk around the side of my building to go to the laundry room, I pass the edge of the property, which is fenced off, with woods and stuff on the other side of the fence. One day, while doing laundry, I noticed a big (bronze, maybe) statue of a frog or toad sitting in some brush under a tree on the other side of the fence. I wish I could get that frog and put it in my garden. The look on his face reminds me of my cat Henry.

Do you have a Deals in your area? Some of the uglier, and therefore funnier, ones came from there.

That frog sounds cute.

I am entranced with the idea of all your craptacular yard ornaments! I have gnomes, but they're indoor gnomes.

I am a bit scared of the Crocs. I went in a shoe store the other day just to touch them and they kind of freaked me out.

I think I'll stick to my hippy dippy birks :P

Also, so much animal adventure! I love wee frogs. I also love wee salamanders and such.
