There's something about the man which, to Arthur's sensibilities, should be inherently offensive. How he dresses, how he talks, every single thing about his body language. All of it should set Arthur's teeth on edge.

I read this last night probably around five times and didn't know what to say to it except wow. When I heard the premise from someone else, I was like, EAMES AS AN ASEXUAL? THAT'D NEVER WORK HAHAHA, but you handled it with amazing deftness and matter-of-factness, and especially with their dialogue, there's such a great undercurrent of love and fondness and intimacy. Though my favorite part is definitely Arthur recounting his ex-girlfriend who later came out as a lesbian (and laughing, because really, what do you do with that), I think really my absolute favorite is Arthur realizing Eames is safe, and he is seized with affection, and oh. ♥

See, that's the best thing about Eames as a character: he can be literally anything. It all works. Kind of like you can basically make everything canon in Inception fandom, even the silly stories where they're lobsters and such.

Also, on further thought, this story is technically cuddling porn. Also regular porn, but you know.

This is incredible. I'm completely smitten with your characters and I just want to read about them being together and being amazing and working their sh** out with each other forever. Seriously, I would read this forever. It's one of those rare stories that manages to retain the characters' edges and imperfections while still feeling so warm and safe and comfortable that I almost forget what these people do for a living and what they're capable of, because all I care about is how they're so in love.

There was going to be a scene where they went next morning for coffee and hashed out The Rules (during which Eames kept complaining and squirming, and Arthur kept being adamant but *wanting* to squirm) and Arthur thought how Eames was the best boyfriend ever and Arthur didn't deserve him, and then Eames cuffed him and told him to drink his disgusting coffee.

But it was long and I had homework, so I figured it was best to end it where it was. :D
