Wow! First I really loved how you added to the verse that poisontaster first populated. You've enriched this world so much with this well-written story.

Second - I love that your characters all had to grow in some way as the journey came to an end. Made the story wholly more satisfactory and amazing. :-)

And finally - that little part in the end, with the appointment with Dr. Blanchett. Man, I am squirming in delight because it just gives me little bursts of hope that Jensen and Orlando - ahem - David would meet up. And Jeff and Liam's lives would intersect somehow.

Go you!!! Thanks so much for finishing this story. It has been an awesome, awesome ride. :-)

I'll admit I have scenes dancing in my brain where my cast and PT's cast slowly meet and begin to merge.... [hides under keyboard] It'd be interesting if only because Liam's coming at this with completely the wrong attitude from their POV; he's still being coldly pragmatic (except in Orlando/David's case, but he's still convinced his emotions aren't involved here and that's the story he's sticking with [cough]) while Jeff and his friends are approaching it from the OMG-slavery-is-immoral POV. I imagine Liam might get there eventually, but he's more of a utilitarian. It could be an interesting blend of philosophies, though, and he's pretty close to sharing their goal. He could be a very valuable ally. Unfortunately, I don't have time to write a continuation -- either this or any of the others floating around in my head -- any time in the next several years. :/

Thanks back for commenting all along -- readers like you kept me going, even when all I could do was think about it periodically. {{}}

Hate to see this one end. Not quite HEA, but life isn't always like that. At least it ends on a note of hope for the future.

Hate to see this one end.

I know what you mean. On the one hand, I don't want to leave this sandbox. On the other hand, it feels so good to be finished. :)

No, not quite an HEA, but as close as I could come without completely murdering believability. I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway -- thanks!

I have to confess -- I have no friggin idea who Dr. Blanchett is. D:

Is there hope that we'll get more of this universe?

It ended on such a melancholy note and I'd love to see some H/C with David and Liam.

Ahh, sorry. :/ Cate Blanchett is a... either a therapist or a psychiatrist (I forget which right now) in Poisontaster's original Kept Boy story. She works with slaves who've been chewed up by the system, specifically Jensen in KB. She's an abolitionist who pays the penalty tax for not keeping any slaves, and doesn't particularly care who knows it. She's also a member of Jeff Morgan's abolitionist group, but 1) that's kept deadly quiet for obvious reasons, and 2) there's not a lot of positive action abolitionists can take in the current environment anyway. She's eccentric and a radical by the standards of the Empire, and I'm sure the government watches her, but she doesn't do anything illegal where anyone can see or hear; she's also from a wealthy family so she can get away with being a social oddity. :)

Liam's heard of her, as people toward the top of the social hierarchy tend to at least know of one another, but since up until recently he had only contempt ( ... )

That makes so much more sense. Thank you greatly for the explanation. I literally searched every chapter of Lost Boy to see if Dr. Blanchett was mentioned! lol

I'll get on those other fics too.

Thanks again!

I'm glad their familiarity with each other returns the minute they are alone. What their eyes and minds can't/won't see, their bodies and hearts rememeber. *made me cry their hun...*

So this whole episode has made a change after all... Lord neesom has changed his mind on the world around him and is willing to do something about it, as subtle as possible, in hopes it will have more effect that way.

I'm sure Margaret will work it out(you can't fool a mother), as well as Johnny and Samantha... but at least they know to keep quiet about it.
So... this is it then... the end.
Or will there be an epilogue of some kind?
if not, I think I'm missing something here... Dr. Blanchett?...

Lord Neeson has made what is, for him, a huge screeching swerve in his thinking, yes, although I imagine the people who are abolitionists from a purely principled POV would find plenty to argue about with him. It's like... if he were living in the here-and-now, he'd be a Republican, but he'd think the Tea Baggers and other similar ultra-conservatives were idiots and a disgrace to the party.

But yes, Liam changed a lot more than I ever expected him to, even just a handful of chapters ago. I'm rather proud of him, actually. :)

I'm not currently planning an epilogue, no. About Dr. Blanchett, see my explanation above to moit.

Thanks for commenting all along! [wave/hug]

Liam is a practical man and I think he knows sudden change is not always a good change... It's the same with losing wieght, if you do it slowly it stays gone...

But first off he's getting help for David... *yay!*
Read the word therapist and things started to fall into place!
Thanks for the ride hun!
I'm truly sad it's over!
Thanks for sharing hun!
*hugs*

Oh, he'd change things suddenly if he thought he could. He knows he can't, though, so he's trying to think of some practical way to get the process started. Considering how many other people just as smart as he is have been thinking about this for quite a lot longer, I'm not sure how successful he's going to be, but that's his new side project.

You're very welcome, and thanks for riding along. [hugs back]
