In Ethical issues and Clients rights this afternoon, we had to write (anonymously) a personal bias/ belief that we hold against others, one that affects us enough that we do not want to be around individuals who fit in the criteria.  After, professor Senna went through and read them all for the class.  It’s amazing the things that people are ( Read more... )

i consider most people truly ignorant if they can't figure out the difference between 'to','too' and 'two', as well as 'there','their' and 'they're'

I think less of people who don't use correct grammar/pronunciation. If you speak poorly, I will probably think you're stupid.

I think people who are deeply religious are only that way because they have a deep hatred and/or secret that they'd like to hide.

For example, religious people who hate others while hiding behind their bible (homophobic people) or people like my aunt, who is deeply religious and goes to mass everyday to pray for her gay son, whom she is sure is going to Hell for loving a member of the same sex.

I think there is something inherently flawed in religions where most biases of the biblical world are dismissed (selling children into slavery, being killed for infidelity, it being acceptable to beat one's wife or children for any form of "disrespect") but an act of LOVING is still appalling - really?

Go hide behind your bibles, those who hate which they cannot or will not understand, for fearing those who are different, the lepers you are taught to love by your God.

I am biased against drug users (not weed). It's stupid, and you know that. You know how easily you get addicted, and you know that once you get addicted your life sucks (that you'll steal from your friends and family, do stupid shit, etc.), yet you still use anyway? Stupid.

i have a weird bias i guess. i wont talk to someone if they're not appealing to me, unless they talk to me first. and i don't mean attraction wise. if someone is poorly dressed/groomed, they seem obnoxious/loud, or they have strange habits i try to avoid talking to them unless i have to. i dont have many friends that are socially awkward or do not take care of themselves.
