[Since Katara's unexpected departure, Sokka has been keeping himself busy. Busy and quiet and absent. Absent from most any place he generally ventures, and engagements he might be expected to attend. He's even spending evenings away from the house, only returning to sleep for a few hour before dawn, and gone not long after sunrise.]

Hey, you wanna spar or something, Sokka?

Sure. [He's not going to argue that, and grabs the two wooden practice swords, brandishing one and offering the other to Naruto.]

Do you fight with swords? [It doesn't seem to matter to Sokka how he answers -- sword fighting is what they'll be doing.]

[There's a lot of people struggling at the moment... and even if he does feel a little off-kilter himself, he can get by not thinking about it.]

Uh, well-- no, not really... Uhm.

[He takes the sword nevertheless, and drops into a sort of-- odd stance whilst holding it.]

It's easy though, right?

We'll make it easy to start. [Which is really their best bet, anyway. Sokka eyes Naruto's stance and then takes one of his own. A short sweep of his sword and he's making contact with his friend's.] If you straighten your back a little, it'll help.

[Iroh has found some tea, and he carefully prepares it. He takes the pot and a few cups out to Sokka.]

[action!] Indeed!

[Sokka doesn't fail to notice that gesture. He glances back at the small collection of food he's managed and then smiles a little at Iroh.] There's never really enough of your tea to go around, but you always make it seem like there is.

[Iroh smiles]

One of the wonderful things about tea is that the leaves hold their potency for some time. It isn't hard to make a little tea last quite some time.

Would you like a cup?

[Sokka considers his donation table, but decides it's okay to partake of the offering anyway.] Yes, please. [He can definitely use it right about now.]
