very cool!
what is the mood of the painting supposed to be?

Thanks.
I was trying to keep the mood ambiguous -- I kinda like seeing the different reactions and interpretations. Of course, there's always an inherent risk when being ambiguous that the viewer won't be engaged. I had a few different interpretations in my head for this one, but I try not to mention them since that itself can slant how others see it.

That is such a wicked idea! And yours turned out great! My only advice would be to be more careful around the actual figure, not get any paint on her hands and such as I think it would be more powerful with a stark black outline. But that's just me!

Thanks. I started out with no paint on the figure, but found it needed some to really make it part of the painting.

Thanks!
Since I'm new to working with oil (this was alkyd, actually), I tried not to get too fancy, and just stuck to some simple knife strokes. I've got some more things I want to try, but I thought I'd work up to them on the next pieces.

A series is an interesting idea. The image is from this set, so I'd have a ton of poses to pick from.
