Thanks. I was trying to keep the mood ambiguous -- I kinda like seeing the different reactions and interpretations. Of course, there's always an inherent risk when being ambiguous that the viewer won't be engaged. I had a few different interpretations in my head for this one, but I try not to mention them since that itself can slant how others see it.
That is such a wicked idea! And yours turned out great! My only advice would be to be more careful around the actual figure, not get any paint on her hands and such as I think it would be more powerful with a stark black outline. But that's just me!
Thanks! Since I'm new to working with oil (this was alkyd, actually), I tried not to get too fancy, and just stuck to some simple knife strokes. I've got some more things I want to try, but I thought I'd work up to them on the next pieces.
A series is an interesting idea. The image is from this set, so I'd have a ton of poses to pick from.
