Even though the driver of the vehicle had alcohol in his system, the folks on the bike were majorly speeding, too.

Dad said that the accident was about 10% their fault because of their extreme speed. Still, it's hard to stop that suddenly when a vehicle pulls out in front of you, though, even going the speed limit on a highway.

HOLY FS! I saw this on the news and was like, "hmm, I don't think I know them". My next thought was, "F-ing drunk drivers need to fry."

Sorry that your dad had to see/deal with that. People are douches. It also proves, once again, that people really don't give a shit unless something affects them. I mean, driving through an accident?! WTF?

And my dad isn't sure, but there's a couple who own a bike just like the couple in the accident (a Honda Goldwing) a few blocks from my folks' place (they live in Bloomington, too). Small (but ugly) world.
