I went to the eye doctor to find out why the stems of my glasses kept getting bent out at odd angles.  She told me to stop taking my glasses off one-handedly. 
I guess this means I can no longer whip them off "Stephen Colbert-style."

That simply will not do. And it doesn't make sense! I have never heard an eye doctor say anything so silly.

Perhaps askew glasses stems are worth it for the freedom to take off your glasses the true American way.

Or perhaps you need slightly stronger frames?
