The song that the title of this entry is from might be my favorite ever.
I recently had to clean out my room, and had a similarly bittersweet experience. It's hard to throw away the proof of your past. But it made me feel so much lighter, at the same time.
Great song for sure. Do you like their new stuff? I enjoy it, but not as much as the older songs.
The cleaning was cathartic, certainly, but I can't help but feel that now, without physical proof and only memories, can I be certain that what I believe happened has actually happened?
sorry to hear about your car... that's crazy all you two have been through.
kinda unrelated. I just took all my ticket stubs and put them in an album, I've wanted to do that forever. I'm trying to organize all the stuff I can't throw away. it's difficult
I've always been impressed with the list you've compiled as the top entry to your journal. Besides being pretty good on both quantity/quality, the fact that early on you had the foresight to start writing them down!
I keep all the ticket stubs I can, but there are shows that I'm sure I'll never be able to remember that were $5 at the door, or handstamp only or such that I wish I had written down.
I'm a compulsive list maker. and i just started writing em down cuz i was going to so many in high school.. and since I had the list, i figured posting it in my journal would be the best bet for keeping it updated. I'm definitely glad I did it.
I dunno if you were ever into em, but i'm trying to figure out a way to check out one of the Juliana Theory's reunion shows. they're only playing NYC, Pittsburgh, Philly, LA, Pomona, and San Francisco. so it would cost me some cash, but i think it would be fun to go. haha
I like the Juliana Theory, but I liked them more a while ago. I really didn't care for their last couple of albums, but Emotion Is Dead will always be great. I saw them once back in the day, (weird show, Juliana Theory, Piebald, and Glassjaw on the same bill...), but wouldn't mind checking them out for old times sake. I didn't realize they'd gotten back together (thou, honestly I wasn't aware they'd broken up...)
If you came to the Philly show, I'd totally be up for that, but while it's only about 1.5 hours for me, that'd be quiet a haul for you!! Heck, with enough notice, I could do Pittsburgh or NYC.
