Mum has had two muscle tests in the last two weeks. The Doctors say that she has Peripheral Neuropathy which means that the nerves in her arms and legs are not working properly. The problem is that this could be the problem in its self or it could be a symptom of something bigger like MS, parkinsons or even ME. Her Consultant said that her case was ( Read more... )

We've ordered a stairlift which should be installed on 16th Nov and today Mum and Dad went chair shopping and ordered one of those chairs that moves up and down and reclines and that should be coming on tuesday ( Read more... )

The good news is that there is nothing wrong with Mum's spine.

So she has an appointment on 5th Nov to get her muscles tested.

She fell over again today.

Dad is investigating stair lifts so she can sleep in her bed not Gran's spare room.

Mum's scan went OK, she said it was very weird inside it. Tiny. She is seeing the consultant on Tuesday to get the results ( Read more... )

Mum has an appointment for an MRI scan tomorrow, and has to go see another doctor to have her muscles tested.

It's not much, but it is a start.

At some point I am going to do a post of all the positive things that have happened this year so that my journal doesn't turn into a drepressing, bad news, pity party.

But not today.

Last November Mum fell and broke her arm and hurt her back. It took her ages to get back to normal, but by June she was almost there. Then, at the beginning of July she fell in our back field and broke her left leg in 2 places. They got the air ambulance out for her ( Read more... )

1. Today Grandad is going on a cruise for a month to the Caribbean and I am going to house sit for him to see how I cope living on my own. A much better idea than renting a house for 6 months and it not working out. I'm scared and excited and really hope it works and that I don't get to lonely on my own ( Read more... )
