Have been turning over the thought of creating a mechanical hand costume piece for Halloween. I've already figured out how to articulate the all the fingers but am having trouble figuring out how to make a 'wrist' joint. Today was my last day emlisted in the military, it was also my first day at my new job. I squeaked by on that one. Today was just filling out forms and doing all the HR stuff. I now have my security badge and go in tomorrow at 7:30 to actually start doing work for my new company.

Just got off the phone with the person who pointed me towards my next job. I pinged him because I'm getting a little nervous about where I'm going to be getting money from here shortly ( Read more... )

Still waiting on the interview with the senior project manager. Though apparently the company is thinking about hiring both myself an the other person who interviewed, so that helps me calm down a little bit. Hopefully I'll get it early next week. For now it's more waiting.

It seems that the other person who was scheduled for the preliminary interview yesterday never showed, which means I go on to the next round by default (yay). I don't actually have 'official' word of this yet as the supervisor who's taking care of it was out today. My friend, however, was in and I actually talked with him. Had my interview this morning, it went pretty well. Just have to wait for them to interview another person next monday. Though hopefully the fact I have a Secret clearance already and they'd just have to pick it up will be helpful. On top of the fact I know one of the supervisors who did the interviewing today should be another plus.

I have an interview at 9:00AM on Wednesday with a local company that does electronic security and the like. I -really- want this job, as it would mean I could stay right where I am and not have to relocate. Prayers would be very welcome.
