Tracy, the picture is gorgeous! It looks like you have come full circle with your surroundings and are very happy. That's a good thing. I don't think you would be as happy in Bellingham, WA. I can almost bet you that

Place is very important to me, too. It took living someplace I didn't like (Boston) for me to realize that. I knew I loved Colorado when I lived there, but somehow I didn't realize that I would not feel the same about other places. Even now, I love living in San Diego and there are many, many things that I think make this an amazing place to live, but it still doesn't speak to me the way Colorado does. I am really hoping we end up back there next year. (We have no idea at this point. But if we do, I think I will cry. Actually I will probably cry either way--tears of happiness if we're moving back, and sadness if we aren't.)

This is why I need to get back to Portland eventually, even though Chicago is a pretty cool place to be for right now.

I have always thought about moving to Denver/Boulder.

Of course I love Madison, but I have always yearned for the mountains.

Yep! It look me moving to an expensive hellhole (south Florida) to realize that I needed to be back in the "real" South.

I love Colorado. Haven't been there for quite a while, but it is breathtakingly beautiful.
