I have jury duty tomorrow.

I am very excited, but am packing as if I'm going on a vacation to a desert island where dying of boredom is likely.

What would you bring to jury duty?

iPod, knitting, and/or a good book. And a bottle of water and a snack. Good luck!

I brought all of this but the knitting. I did bring my computer, but there were no Internets in the courthouse.

A good book or two! I would also bring knitting if they would let me through security with it. I think they would. A little music-playing device would help a lot, too. If you can bring a drink, YES. And snacky bits.

Have fun! :)

You know, I brought what might be the biggest book I own that I'd actually read, and didn't even get a chance to look at it. I'm totally not complaining, but it's kind of silly.

So, what did you do? Did they pick you right away?

I was in the jury waiting room for about an hour and a half before being sent to a courtroom. Unfortunately, I didn't get into the jury box, but I did get to watch jury selection, which was kind of interesting.

When I had it a few months ago, I had with me a book, 2 magazines, a giant bottle of water and a couple of granola bars. Because they were apparently locking me away for about 4 years.

Dude, that's exactly what I was thinking as I got my shit together this morning -- I am going to be locked in a room with absolutely no stimulation for at least a year -- what should I have with me?!!

I brought Sports Illustrated, a book, my computer (dumb, because I couldn't get on the internet), my iPod, water, a granola bar, and the usual crap I always have with me.

I got sent to a courtroom where they were doing a criminal trial, but I was one of the reserve jurors so I didn't get questioned or anything.

I brought my knitting and a good book. Oh and tea because I didn't like their coffee.

They kept telling us about the free coffee this morning, but I was afraid to try it.

How'd it go?

It was kind of interesting -- I was brought into a courtroom but was one of those "reserve" jurors sitting in the gallery, so I didn't get to answer questions or do anything exciting. I really wanted them to kick out enough people so I'd get up there, but they didn't.

I would bring a book or a bunch of magazines. And plenty of coins for vending machines. And a sweater.

Yeah, a sweater is a good idea. I left mine in the car, because it's 100 degrees today and I thought there is no way in hell it would be chilly in the courthouse. It wasn't bad, but my toes were freezing.
