I see a lot of both, Rei and Shinji in your application. Rei considering how she is towards Shinji, and Shinji once he gets more determined, rather than at the beginning or the final movie since I think he is a bit too avoidant for you, and his approach started to get more immature which doesn't fit either. Granted, none of the characters fit perfectly, thankfully, but if I were to mix both of them... They both come off as rather anti-social, Rei also comes off as collected, while Shinji as somewhat shy. However, once you get to know them, they become warmer and more open. Shinji more so but it's mostly because of Rei emotionless personality. The way you're described by those who know you fit also both of them. She'd be described as strong and sheltered, while he is more naive and too kind. They are both calm types and neither of them is the leader type (though I wouldn't say you're as much of a follower as both of them?). All of the characters in this series are so...lolz, unique, that I kind of have a hard time seeing them being great fits for anyone 100% (it has also been a LONG time since I've watched the series so my memory is probably not that great with it, orz)! O_O; Still, I rather like the Rei and Shinji votes you've gotten, and I can see a little bit of Yui too! I think I'm leaning more towards Shinji though...especially once he gets some more development: he's pretty shy but can eventually open up to others once he's gotten to know them more; he's really sensitive when it comes to seeing other people in pain; in the beginning he is kind of selfish but he really does care deeply for others; he's polite and respects rules even if he thinks them pointless. I had not seen this series before so I would like to apologize if it's inaccurate... from descriptions, I would say none of the characters really fit you perfectly. But, the closest fit would be Rei Ayanami. I can see her as an INFP, very sensitive, and not show her affection openly to others, as her EVA unit malfunctioned once due to her emotional instability. And the fact that she does get irritated when someone insults people whom she believes that they care for her. Which reminds me of your negative traits, such as Intolerant to stupidity and sensitive. You also mentioned you will give people a cold shoulder which I think is similar to how she is cool and apathetic. I can also see her as calm, and someone who hides her emotions too.

I haven't actually watched NGE, so... I do apologise if the vote is off, since I'm going by the descriptions. I'm going to go with Shinji. You mentioned that strangers tend to think of you as more withdrawn and anti-social, and he is described as being somewhat of a recluse, so. You don't exactly strike me as being the avoidant sort, but I can sort of see a realistic idealist slant in his character from the description, and I can see someone like that being sensitive (both in the understanding others way and the easily-hurt fashion, which you both listed).

Shinji. I didn’t think of him at first because the…vibe of your application and your tone just didn’t remind me of him but he seems to fit best out of the other three characters I considered voting for, namely Maya, Hikari and Yui. Shinji fits part of the enneagram result like avoiding conflict, being introverted and a “going with the flow”-type of person. He is definitely sensitive although he is more passive about cheering people up than you, he can be selfish as he changed his mind like three times about piloting EVA but he does care about people and like him, you seem to be someone who considers what other people think. He can be funny -I remember that he sometimes made a joke- and he is kindhearted, anxious, unsure and grumpy. He also has the tendency to hide his thoughts and feelings, too, though he did get rather emotional occasionally…I think he is dependent on other people in the sense that he wants to be needed and liked; follower + modest fits him as well.
