That basically describes how I feel recently at work.  Don't get me wrong, I love my job, and I love that it challenges me.  What I do not love is the fact that at times it seems that people are setting me up to fail.  I am not one to take a negative point of view like that... and the fact that I do think this is very troubling ( Read more... )

Yesterday, there was a shooting rampage at Virginia Tech.  Today they report 33 dead, 30 wounded.  The shooter killed himself before police could get to him.  People were shot in classrooms during morning classes, just any normal day.  One girl was one of only four able to walk out of her 25 person class ( Read more... )

So I am house sitting at my parents' while they are on vacation in Orlando and Tampa.  It's pretty damn boring to be honest.  I've never been so ready to go back to work.  Just as an example, it's now 6:00 pm and I realized a few minutes ago that the only words I have spoken today have been to my dog.  I think he is depressed too, just sleeps all ( Read more... )

So after arriving in Sydney, we had to claim baggage and proceed through customs.  It didn't take too long, so that was good.  Then we went to check in for our connecting flight to Brisbane.  Turns out, they booked me on the wrong flight - doh!  I had to pay a fee (which I put in my expense report, don't worry) to get on the earlier flight with ( Read more... )
