One of my clients brought in a painting for me to scan and print. It's a really lovely painting of a house downtown, with some people in the front garden. One of them is bending over to pick some flowers, and the other is standing right behind. All I could think of the whole time I worked on that project was SURPRISE BUTTSECKS! And I giggled. -
Chocolate Chip cookies
Until further notice, Food Friday is now on Saturday. My new job and lack of reliable internet connection during the week makes posting a new recipe impossible. As of this morning, I am at 5,600 words! Terribly behind, yes, but a good start to things. I still don't have a title, as titles aren't really my strong suit. Food Friday, a day early!
Tomorrow is the first day of my new job! This happened super fast, too. I heard about the job on Friday, had the interview yesterday, and my first day's tomorrow. The job's about an hour and a half away from where I live now and it's also in the Central Time Zone. A Dream
It snowed last week, so it doesn't surprise me I dreamt of winter. In my dream, Margie and Lori and Holly came and visited me over their winter breaks, and we were going to go sledding. Margie and Lori were baffled by the need for snowpants. -

Cranberry Pie
I almost forgot about posting a recipe today! This is one of my favorite pies. It's kind of like a giant muffin, poured in a pie crust, with a delicious layer of caramel at the bottom. I'm making two of them for the Harvest Dinner this weekend. And a third one, just for me.

My favorite part of unemployment: Staying up until 3 am and sleeping until noon. Of course, I traded in my disposable income for it, but life's all about compromise. The balance of freedom with security.
