I think I've only seen two silent movies in my life. One was Birth of a Nation, which I honestly barely even remember, and the other was Seven Chances with Buster Keaton. I've been meaning to see City Lights and Sunrise for a long time now. I've never heard of Broken Blossoms, though.
Lawrence of Arabia is amazing. I was really not expecting it to have as much heart and humor and personality as it has, while of course still being serious and even really dark in some places. And Peter O'Toole's performance is honestly one of my favorites ever.
I don't really think that Citizen Kane is overrated either, even though it's not one of my personal favorites. I just feel a little emotionally detached from it, but I fully respect its intelligence and its craft, and I do at least find Orson Welles to be extremely charming.
