I've heard it said that if you can fully understand the second sutra in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, then you don't need to read the rest of them. Everything you need to know is encapsulated in the words yogah citta vrtti nirodhah - "yoga is the cessations of movements in the consciousness".

Theo turned one on Tuesday. That shit is crazy. He had his 12 month well baby visit today, and he's now 19.5 lbs and 29 inches tall. At birth he was 5 lbs 4 oz and 19 inches, so I'd say he's done pretty well for himself.

Milestones-wise, he seems to be right on schedule. He's nearly walking, and by nearly walking I mean that he actually can walk ( Read more... )

Oh man, I am totally wiped out right now. I think it's partly the weather, and partly having so many people over/being so busy.

Theo and I went to the Francophone Centre's parent & child drop in this morning, which was great. They have a fantastic space, lots of toys, and they give the kids snacks. And it's free! Anyway, the woman who runs it is ( Read more... )
