Learning games is hard. I could never, can never, follow directions -- I just have to do it. Moreover, I have trouble caring enough to try to win or not win if and when I finally do figure out the rules. You can see how things like law school and learning to drive were problematic

Gus is not super into analog games, never has been, he really prefers digital. J+I are like your mom, we love all games, and I'm not sure where we fell down on getting G to like analog games. But we're trying to break down his resistance.
Not enough games feature anything purple, I have to agree!

Are we the only people we know who can say things like "Of course I had saved mine from college?" :-) I was just thinking, I took so many coloring books with me to Chicago -- just realizing that perhaps doing so was not this side of normal. Oh well, that's why we <3 us!

Finally he relented and tried to teach her one more time. But he advised, "If you get the old maid, it doesn't mean you win it means you LOSE."
MJ asked: "What *do* you get if you win?"
That stopped him in his tracks. I mean, the answer is -- nothing. You're out of cards. That doesn't seem American, somehow. It doesn't seem like winning as we know it. He was unable to explain that whoever reached this void first won.
