Here it is Sunday night, and within four days of the end of April.  Today the trees we can see from the kitchen window showed a faint green on the branches.  The temp was 26C yesterday till I got home, and as I got off the bus a terrible windstorm struck. The swirling dust blinded me when I managed to get to the parking lot enroute to my street and ( Read more... )

Wow, I'm glad you're okay! I like the pics of the gems. The lapis looks especially nice. :-)

Oh, my, Annie! You could have been really hurt! I'm so glad you weren't! That must have been so scary!

The gems are gorgeous! I have to admit that I'm partial to the smoky quartz most of all, especially the square, bevelled one. And the kyanite is beautiful, such a wonderful color! What beauties they all are! You did well in your choices.

They are pretty, aren't they! I'm keeping one, giving the rest away. I am still debating which ones go to whom....I thought I'd made up my mind, then I changed it....dither dither, ha ha.

I'm so glad you weren't beaned in that storm. Next time you will have to carry ankles weights with you or a tie down.
The gems are beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I love seeing all the details of the quartz. I don't think that i have ever seen any like them. I'm like Mom, I like the lapis egg and the carnelian is really cool. I like those smoothed/polished rocks/gems to rub on my face, they literally are refreshing in the summer.

Wow - that was indeed a harrowing adventure. I was so caught up in the wind whipping you around that when I saw the first few pictures, I thought they were photos of the windstorm. It had to keep scrolling to figure out that they were stones, so I had to adjust my perspective. I'm drawn to the carnelian - it's just beautiful.

Ha ha - but now that I look at those pieces, I see exactly what you mean....the only difference being that these are clear. There was so much dust whirlwinding around I was blind to which way to go - both in the odd little square, and then the same thing in that filthy parking lot. Duststorms in Mississauga - a first maybe? Tee hee. The Carnelian looks almost like a piece of soft toffee, doesn't it.
