Great story - Ishida is my favourite Bleach character, and I really liked how he was written in this fic. I lold at 'needle-fu', and Byakuya's sense of humour. Only maybe you could add something like explanatory notes that would give some information about the parts of the wedding kimono and such - in case there are readers like me who are too lazy to google hadajuban and uchikake...
I was hoping that with the English text mixed in that the parts of the wedding ensemble would be fairly easy to decipher. I'm so sorry it didn't work out that way for you, especially given that was part of my section. So, let's just do a bit of hand waving and say all those names were just layers of the wedding kimono. *laughs* I'll try and remember for next time to include a glossary o Japanese terms I use.
Needle-fu was an especially loved portion of this story. Some days I think the whole thing revolved around that one little word. *giggles*
I too love Ishida a great deal, which is why this was such a fun perspective to write from.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and comment so nicely. :D
One could understand what the terms refer to quite well, don't worry =) I just wanted some more information - maybe the terms have some symbolic meaning or something of the kind... Or you could add the links you used for research on wedding clothes when writing the story, so people who are interested in the topic could read more.
On the other hand, the way you use all these complicated clothing terms in the story without making special emphasis on them or trying to explain them adds authenticity to the fic - all the kimono parts and layers probably are common knowledge in Japan, so the casual use of terminology makes the story more believable.
But anyway information about cultural aspects doesn't really have much to do with the story, and it is absolutely fine without any additions.
Thanks again for 'needle-fu' - it is now one of my favourite words =)
It's also good to know people are interested in the background and research. We did a goodly amount and yes some of the pictures we found were truly incredible. That is definitely something to keep in mind for next time. Thanks. :D
om! Ishida Uryuu, dressmaker to the Kuchiki nobles! Byakuya's sense of humour and his everlasting search for a suitable sparring partner! I love it that Ichigo is so intimidated by the thought that anything might derail the wedding that he isn't providing Byakuya with a satisfying spar anymore! And that Byakuya in his noble, understated way is, is as fight-crazy as Kenpachi! And of course, Ishida himself-- such a wonderful friend and so reluctant to admit it!
I still haven't decided if Ishida would lower himself to work for any shinigami, other than his real friends. But if he were I suspect Byakuya would be the only one. *snerk*
On a normal day Ichigo would probably love nothing better than kicking Byakuya's ass repeatedly. However, since Byakuya is head of the noble Kuchiki I fear Ichigo had to put a lot of his normal personality aside to keep this wedding on track. *laughs*
Given how much you adore Byakuya, I find it a high compliment that you enjoyed him in this story.
Thank you so much for reading and giving your as always thoughtful and fun remarks. :D
"The ball was large and persistent enough to warrant a name, and the only fitting name Ishida could come up with began with a ‘Ku’ and ended in ‘rosaki’."
I *snort*ed at that line
This was wonderful, I think you characterized everyone wonderfully. And I agree, Byakuya definately has a sense of humour.

I have to be honest, that line was all Mosh's. She totally kicked ass with some of the funniest lines.
Thanks so much reading and appreciating our first collaboration. It was hella fun. XD
