What (in your opinion) is the best elite/good icon communities? With 'best' I mean, communities where the majority of the members are 'really elite'?

What in your opinion are the worst elite/good icon communities? With 'worst' I mean, communities where many of the members aren't really that elite. Comms where the mods aren't really selective at all in accepting members?
i've completely given up on finding good icons in j/k/etc pop. koreanelite is a good example. what is all that... mess? it's pushing the definition of elite a little far.
That might be because most of the good kpop icon makers are either busy with rl or no longer interested in kpop/icon making. The lack of kpop icons in general nowadays is pretty saddening tbh :/ I think some of the makers at koreanelite may not be elite, per say, but they definitely have the potential to be and I'm really hoping that the comm has encouraged them to leave their comfort zones a bit and improve for the better. But maybe that's just me - do you have any suggestions perhaps?
i don't really have anything juicy, but i remember feeling really scarred after being rejected from my first elite app. they were fairly nice but it still hurt, haha. i haven't re-apped, even though i think i've gotten a lot better.
I'm not well-known, so nobody will ever ask me to write a tutorial, but I feel weird writing one up on my own even though I'd probably find that more enjoyable than actually coming up with the icon in the first place. It just feels... cocky, I don't know.
i wrote some when i was still learning they were crap, i think some of them ended up at ugly_icons it was actually really fun, then i wrote one tutorial that actually helped people and it was an awesome feeling, if you feel you've got something than could help others then do it.
Am I the only one who's really annoyed when people don't use proper grammar/punctuation/capitalization in their posts and comments? I know the icons are the important part, not whether the maker puts commas in the right places, but there are makers who seems to be unaware of the your/you're or its/it's distinction and it DRIVES ME MAD ARGH. And English is not even my first language :(
nah, it's not just you. seeing someone logged in commenting with your instead of you're immediately warrants a note. and from then on, i estimate their iq to be significantly lower than it probably actually is.
Nope you're not the only one! *I'm also not a English speaker*
I could care less about putting the commas in the right place (I fail at the myself), but not using commas or periods at all, UGH, so annoying.
Also, writing with small 'i's' everywhere (i like this idea) v.s I like this idea (I don't buy that they do it because they think it looks nicer or whatever)
Oh, and aloud/alloud is NOT allowed (these are two different words with completely different meanings!)
I wanna start my own multimaker comm, invite other iconmakers, and organize group activities like the ones held at wonderous_stuff. The thing is, I'm afraid I'll be accused of copying... Are my fears legit? Anyone else have similar thoughts?
wonderous_stuff is a magicmachine rip-off, so I don't think they will judge you. Multi-maker comms are pretty common these days, I think a new animanga one opened just yesterday? If you really want to, you should go ahead :)
Don't worry about it. No one owns the idea, do as you please. At this point everyones doing it & if anyone accuses someone of copying then they're immature.
