My new User Picture was an icon I made for myself when I was in England. I had downloaded a bunch of Kim Possible icons, and had free time on my hands - so I made myself in the same style. I had to reduce the size a little for here, but it works.

Also, here's food for thought

Not food for thought. More like how would the food taste if I were to live in say....the Netherlands?

I know a guy who lives in the Netherlands, well kinda. Met him on a flight back from Sweden, and then ended up taking the same train back into central London. From what I can tell, they've got an amazing socialist health care and education system - i.e. it's free for anyone, as long as you get a ticket out there. Also, he seemed like a good guy. He never got around to emailing me though. Oh well.

Also, if that map was reversed, and there were so few red areas would you not have a much more "Ha, in your face. Learn to be a minority" attitude about the whole thing?

I'm not sure if your question was rhetorical but I'm not sure I'd have that mindset. However, I am a big proponent of socialist health care and a firm believer that eventually our country will follow Marxist theory and we will progress to such policy.

I really want to remain positive about where our country will go. It's just becoming increasingly more difficult to keep that mindset. If it were reversed I'd be more likly to jump with joy rather than be a cynic. I'm just waiting for that day.

Perhaps, we can cross our fingers together?

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/vote2004/countymap.htm is the source for the above map.

Given how close the popular vote was, I think a binary coloring of the map gives a distorted picture of how evenly the country is split. If the map was colored with shades of blue and red, then you get this, which is far more accurate:
