The beginning of Xmas
Got the advent calendars done in the nick of time. Seriously, this getting Christmas stuff done for the 1st is very difficult to get one's head around! I'm pleased with how it turned out:

but this speech always makes me proud.
As a background, the speech was made by our then Primeminister David Lange, at Oxford, during a debate on the morality of nuclear weapons/power. He argued that they weren't and famously told his opponant that he could "smell the uranium on [his] breath". -

Man I'm so tired. Bone tired. My eyes hurt, like they're being sucked backwards and downwards. My brain is only able to concentrate hard for about 5 mintues at a time. I've been telling her that if she eats her crusts her hair will get curly - and thanks to extreme humidity earlier this week she now believes me.
The funny thing is that I'm always looking for some resemblance between us, some hint that she has some of my DNA, and when I saw that curl it was like looking at my hair. She's got the blond and I'm ( Read more... ) -
What I'm doing at the moment
I did this as a trial for some I was going to make my Mum for Xmas but I've decided to get her a book instead. Great pattern though, very easy and quick.
There's going to be a few of these little guys this Xmas, I call this one Scopes because he's my trial. :)) Oh I crack me up.

I read lots of blogs through my iGoogle reader, and I only get the titles unless I click to expand them. I can tell you that they are all very family-friendly, often craft-related, and very wholesome and inspirational. A Christmas Meme
I'm going to do this but to be perfectly frank I'm more hoping that other people will post theirs so I can see if there's something I can do - I'm not so hung up on having my list fulfilled.
