It's been 10 years since I joined LiveJournal.

10 LONG FUCKING years.

When I "joined", it wasn't so much joining as it was signing up for some new fangled shit that Brad had put together.

And now, 10 years later, here we are.

I've come a long, long way in 10 years. And I have the posts to prove it.

I've made some good friends. People I'd never had met ( Read more... )

I've noticed that LJ is quieter and quieter as more people condense what's happening in their lives into Facebook format - including me, and I'm not thrilled with that.

So, what's yer FB name? I'm Deb Counts-Tabor, and I'd like to keep up with you!

We're on the same page. I agree that LJ has lost steam to the instantly gratifying competition. It'll work out over time.

I care a lot more about Ansley and her life, someone I choose as a friend but have only met once, than learning that someone I went to high school with 20 years ago took her kids to the pool today, and then came home and made macaroni and cheese, and then watched a TV show.

Yeah, I agree with all of this.

I like quality over quantity, and I'm happy for lj particularly for meeting people like ansley.

You rock, Ansley. Happy LJ anniversary.

Yeah, our short-attention-span society has replaced LJ with Myspace and Facebook, and then Twitter ( ... )

Happy LJversary!

LJ has definitely changed since the salad days.

I don't keep up with Facebook and Twitter the way I do with LJ. And my club is much more exclusive here. I don't think those social media are going to replace what I have with LJ. Though I've thought of switching to my own blog hosted by my own site. But I don't know that I'm interesting enough to have that kind of blog. My guitar blog seems to have generated zero interest even though I linked to it on Facebook and emailed my family about it.
