The past couple of months

Life has been good. I have been really enjoying the content of the engineering course. I have nice mates at uni. I have reconciled with a number of people from last year. My family has all been spending time in the northern territory so I have been on my own in their home.I have started an English grammar class, which I am enjoying. I worked the ( Read more... )

I had a similar problem with school, but more a fault of a form of laziness. While I really enjoyed the classes and I found it really interesting, I had a hard time getting myself to do the work. And once I didn't have the first thing done, I'd start freaking out and couldn't do the next thing because I hadn't done the first thing and the whole thing just snowballed.

I finally decided that I was wasting my parents' money, so I didn't continue. I'd like to go back, but I'm not sure when. I like having my evenings free and I've got a day job. Besides, I don't have money for school right now. So, sometime I'd like to go back to school.

Anti-anxiety meds sound like they could be a good idea. Jason had those for a while. His doc prescribed one to him that he could just take when he knew that he would be in a situation that would could make him anxious, so he would just take it on an as needed basis, and those worked pretty well for him.

Yeah I've just started taking Valerian as an anti-anxiety aid, and its helped, although some nights its' not strong enough to calm me down enough to sleep.

I think i'll book in to see the doc and get me some proper anti-anxiety meds.

As I see it, if I can get deep and restful sleep (where I actually wake yawning rather than my heart hammering away) then the rest of the day holds little to fear.

Good luck Caroline!

Might want to try Zizphus for the sleep it tends to be a bit more successful with sleep stuff than valerian.

Thanks Jane. I always really enjoy your insight. I haven't been to the doctor yet but I am hoping that perhaps I can be on meds like Jason and that might help me through the intial anxiety and then maybe I'll be able to succeed on my own.

Do you know what you would like to study if you went back to school? I am at a loss as to what to do if engineering doesn't work out?
