Oh wow I loved this! It was so beautifully written and so heavy with mood. I loved the little details like

"his eyes pinpricks of blue light in the darkness"
and
"It was barely above a whisper but it seemed to shatter something in night air."

Also I love how strong Kira is here. You know I love a strong Kira and he is so strong in his sadness.

made me think Shuu killed Gin and Izuru didn't like that, I didn't expect Izuru to have said that! This fic makes Shuu sound more loyal to his own Captain, that's a very interesting spin! Aah but I agree Izu, it had to be done >___<
Oooh there's no way Bleach will end without Gin dying is there? -siigh- I do wonder how Izu would get through it if in the end he delivers that final blow....
Aaah I won't be able to sleep now you've got that thought in my head! The poor thing still has nightmares but I'm glad he's pulling through!

8D Yes, my Gin-killing Izuru is lovely, isn't he? As for Shuu...loyalty aside he just wanted to spare Izuru the effects of killing your own Captain. Isn't that noble and totally adorable of him? ::cuddles Shuu::

And UWAH!!!!! I don't want Gin to die!!!!!! But the probability he will is high and I doubt Izuru is going to be the one to do him in but that remains to be seen.

Guess that's where fanfiction comes in handy. ^^

This was my thinking throughout the fic: "Shuu killed Gin? Okay... HUH?? Izuru killed Tousen?? NO, wait, IZURU killed GIN. HUH???"

Haha. XD I got a little confused there, but when I thought about it, Izuru would never forgive Shuuhei for killing Gin because that would be a blow to his pride, and in the end the fukutaichou would have to kill their former taichou.

Finally got around to reading this. *Is shot* And it's so lovely - I love the basic idea for this fic, which is so stunningly simple. I really liked this line:

Shuuhei nodded. What Kira was really saying was that he could handle the repercussions of his Captain’s death. What he couldn’t handle was Shuuhei thinking he couldn’t.

It is SO ShuuKira. This is the kind of thing that makes this pairing work. :D
