Dad had surgery and lost a few internal organs, but now he's diagnosed cancer-free.  This is good news.  Now all he has to do is last 8-12 months without working...

My dad was diagnosed with cancer over the summer, and had surgery to remove it at the end of August.  Secondary tests are now showing that he either needs to have a rather risky surgery, or he'll die in a year.  I don't know what to do.
