we started booking shows again. a post-rock band from new york and seattle played on monday. the turnout wasn't so great. this city has no hope. thanks to the three other bands that played. it was a fun show, and i got to speak with some other people who also know that merzbow is a joke

You have one show with a low turnout on a MONDAY night and you think Orlando has no hope? So much good shit is happening. There are so many good bands starting up from here now. Dead Bird, Yip Yip, Field Trip, KFS, etc. etc. There is an all ages venue in town. Man there is so much good shit happening.

Instead of saying the town has no hope, why don't you get further involved and try to make it even more of a fun place? Remember Martin County.. remember the hurdles it took to even have one show a month. I think sometimes we're taking where we are for granted.

i agree. i talked to perry about this the other night. if martin county had successful shows, then orlando should be no problem.

i am *very* optimistic about doing shows here, but i think you're still overestimating the number of people in this city who appreciate music. that's what the statement was in regard to. look at how fickle they are by comparing two different shows of the same exact bands.
