Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention, I always questioned the surroundings of Jim's death. Thank you for the insight into the way a brilliant man died. I might include a link from my journal to this writing, if that is alright with you.

I'm not really responding to "goldenrod21" as much as I am placing this as close to the top as I can because of the importance of clarifications I'd like to quickly make here. To further draw attention, I am inserting a pic of Jim seldom seem since I published it in 1968:

thought u were nuts but... ur theory makes tons of sense anonymous July 21 2007, 15:58:01 UTC
Thought you were nuts when I started reading this, having stumbled upon it looking for an article on that new book whose approximate title is "The End" by a Frenchman (Sam Bennett?). I have to say your reading of the "facts" or I should say: various stories distillable to some elements common (possibly based in some kernel of truth), and other elements that vary (probably the lies or bad memory possibly) is more compelling than either of my other 2 favorite theories: accidentally snorted heroin in the apartment thinking it was cocaine because Pamela may have told him that to avoid a fight; or the other theory: died in the toilet at the nightclub and was carried home by the drug dealers ( ... )

Thank you very much. As for the bruise, I think that could be a consequence of a fight.

Sorry-- this is just not reasonable and quite insulting to the French. To your credit, you point out that this is all just a theory, "another theory" at that..Well at least you think about something constructive.. don't mean to sound unkind, just a Devil's advocate ( ... )

1. It’s not that case. She doesn’t tell the same story differently each time, she tells very different stories - read the article.
2. Who told that Pam ever collected that money? Because of the will, she would have received money anyway (big money).
3. The publicists would always prefer the angle which gives striking headlines - a murder, for example.
4. Toluene is a new version without any evidence. Other smart alecks are speaking about heroin. However, that doesn’t change anything at all. There’s no reason to cover up such a death, for a junkie it’s almost natural. However, everything about Jim’s death was covered up: he was buried secretly, he was listed under a different name, his relatives weren’t informed, etc. - read the article. No one says that the French police “bought it off”; however, they could write what they were told by those who have power in their reports without any problems.
As a result, total plausibility.

"Well trying to bury someone here in three days is hard enough, but in a foreign country?"There are no ( ... )

1) Why now? Why, after 36 years, is all the publicity coming back? Is it because of the new book by Bennett? Why have you waited so long to put forth your theory? And aren't you worried about your safety now that you're exposing "the truth"?

2) When will they exhume the body? That will give us a definite answer. Is the French government STILL covering up? I read somewhere that Morrison's body will be moved here to the States. Is that true?

1. Now, because only now it crossed my mind - after reading “The Doors by The Doors”; some statements in this book seemed strange to me - especially Siddons’ statements that Jim died “of natural causes” - and it gave me food to thought. The article was written some time before the information about Bernett’s book came out, and it isn’t connected to Bernett’s book in any way. As for my safety, I think that the person who dealt with it all at the time doesn’t have any power for long - if he’s still alive, of course.

2. As for the exhumation, the question’s not for me. It’s for the relatives or the police. To the best of my knowledge, there was some talk about moving Jim’s body from France to the USA, but nothing was ever done - and, in my opinion, it would never be done.

This is very amazing yet I'm not sure whether im glad or disappointed that you have brought this to my attention. The fact that Morrison could have very possibly been murdered really irritates me.

I'm not sure what to believe and I find it better not to believe anything. At least not until there is real proof (ie: his grave, which will most likely never happen, and I wonder why someone who is capable of finding out the truth hasn't done it yet). I do wish that this would all come to closure because it really sucks not knowing the truth behind this amazingly talented mans death.

Anyways, you have a great theory.
Great job on filling in the missing facts.

Thanks. I'd also like the experts to exhume the body and make the situation more clear.
