[Mewtwo takes to the journals for his first real post to the network - he spends more time thinking over what needs to be said than actually writing. Placing words on a page for everyone to see is different than communicating directly to someone, and isn't something that Mewtwo quite understands the way most others seem to. Language isn't an ( Read more... )

[Depressed or not, draft or not, mild-hangover-effects-still-bugging-him or not, this was written by a non-human sapient. It had to be.

So it instantly gets Robert's attention. Even if the writing is strange - spastic, all over the place, with scattered markings through it - it's legible enough that he can understand it.]

Well. I am a homo sapiens myself - but I presume, from you asking this question, that you are not? [As an astrobiologist, this intrigues him muchly.]

... And what is a "Pokemon"?

Composing a report, of course. Perhaps if the Malnosso, scum that they are, will ever allow me to possess my nanocomputer again, I can take some decent scientific readings as well.

I also intend to correspond with the magic-users in Luceti; there may be some kind of common theme between multiversions with magic-enabling physics. If so, I would like to explore this; understanding how physics can allow magic to function might explain why my own multiversion does not.

[Ugh, the Malnosso.

At least we've now established that you are not one of the "experiment on your organs" scientists - Mewtwo has more experience with the more honorable kind, but it's never a bad idea to make sure.

And he does happen to be fond of the latter type.]

I do not mind assisting

[Robert is thrilled to hear that he'll get to correspond with another non-human sapient. This is what he lives for. Is it possible to write enthusiastically?]

I would be most grateful for your assistance, Mewtwo. Input from all worlds and species is greatly appreciated - it will make my data more accurate and all-encompassing.

[If it was, Mewtwo wouldn't pick up on it.]

I will share what I know.

[Robert wouldn't have picked up on it either, so it's all good.]

Is there anything I can do to make sharing this data easier for you? [Because Robert really wants his input - and also wants to meet Mewtwo.]

writing is difficult

meet in person

I would be most amicable to that. [Indeed he would be, and he kind of has that weird giddiness he gets when he's allowed to study a non-human sapient up close.]

Where would be convenient for you?

(OOC: Should we just continue this thread here as action? :D;)

somewhere not in the open

where are you?

[In Mewtwo's experience, scientists tend to have a lot of stuff to lug around. And anyways, he himself has housemates.]

(sure thing o7)

[Robert doesn't have that much to lug around - save himself, of course. But he's usually hiding inside anyway.]

Currently I am in my apartment. It is Room Three on the first floor of Community Building Three - apparently quite close to the Battle Dome, if you know it. I have not been there myself, though. [And for good reason. There's a bit of obvious disdainfulness in Robert's voice at the Battle Dome's mention.]

[Mewtwo, who fucking loves the Battle Dome, will easily find this location. He will show up at your apartment in about eight minutes.

...he doesn't have much to do, most days.]

[Depending on how Mewtwo shows up, he'll either see the scientist sitting at a small desk sipping tea (blame Helios for getting him addicted to that), or will just see his door. In which case, if he knocks on it, he'll be let in promptly. Robert is indeed eager to meet Mewtwo.]

[It's less of a knock and more of a curious bump before jiggling the knob. These...Mewtwo is uncertain how these work.]

[That's still sufficient to get Robert's attention, so he stands up and opens the door.

... And is now face-to-face with a very large white-and-purple, vaguely-feline anthropomorphic creature.]

... Ah. Salutations. I presume you are Mewtwo? [Robert has no idea how Mewtwo communicates and is thoroughly prepared to do something other than speak aloud. Though he doesn't have his convenient translator...]

[...oh. Guess that worked.]

Yes.

[... A voice, in his mind. Clearly that was not spoken aloud - Robert doesn't see the movement of any organ that would indicate air intake - and yet he heard that voice as if it had been spoken directly into his cerebral cortex.]

... [Robert blinks a little in shock.] ... You... communicate... telepathically? [Normally this would bother him a lot more, but Luceti has sort of put some constraints on Robert's incredulosity. Regardless, he's still surprised.]

Is this a normal communication method for your species?
