Chapter Fifteen: Not Really Shizukesa After All.
After dinner, everyone went off to do their own thing. Ruki and Reita went upstairs, Uruha's mother went to go take a shower, and Uruha was left alone in the living room with Ruki's mother.
"How are you, Uruha?" She asked, knitting.
"I'm as well as I can be, I guess."
"And the baby?"
"Doing well. Kai's giving me this vegetable juice to drink so the baby can 'live up to its full potential'."
"Vegetable juice, huh? In my day, we didn't have those weird, new-fangled nutrient cocktails. Which gender do you think the baby is?"
"My mom said it's a girl, Reita and Miyabi are betting that its a boy. Ruki says it doesn't matter either way because supposedly in the world of visual kei, you can hardly tell."
"And Aoi?"
"Oh, Aoi says that he'll love the baby even if it had nine toes."
"Lovely."
The two sat in comfortable silence, when all of a sudden--
"Mmm, Ruki, baby, you smell so good."
"Nnnnhh....Rei..."
Uruha looked up in amusement. It came from Ruki's bedroom. Ruki's mother stood up.
"Excuse me for a moment." She said. Uruha stifled a giggle as he watched her step upstairs to break things up.
Reita must be going crazy for the past few weeks. Everytime he and Ruki got close to being intimate, Ruki's mother always intervened. Uruha laughed and he too went upstairs to sleep.
The next day, Uruha sat at the kitchen table with his mother, wrapping gifts for the holidays. Actually, his mother was wrapping them and Uruha was helping as best as he could. He was getting quite big now, and last night he discovered he couldn't fit in anything besides sweatpants. Uruha had went to Kai in tears for advice and comfort.
"It's quite alright, deary. I'm sure Aoi," His mother had trouble saying his name without an irritated tone of voice, "would still find you attractive."
"Maybe he doesn't already! Maybe that's why he's cheating on me!" Uruha started to breathe in and out rapidly.
"Well, you heard it from Midori right? There's a chance he isn't... But if he is, you can always go home with me! I'll take care of both you and the baby!" Uruha's mother looked hopeful.
"Mother! I'm fine on my own." Uruha said firmly, but secretly he still felt some doubt in his heart.
"WE'RE BACK! OH.MYGOSH! Those shoppers were, like, vicious! They nearly clawed me totally to death. I think I could have, like, lost an eyeball out there!" Ruki burst into the kitchen with his cheeks pink from the cold outside.
"Oh hush, you. Stop being dramatic." Ruki's mother said cheerfully, walking in after Ruki.
WIth staggering steps, Reita walked in also, carrying many wrapped boxes and shopping bags. In fact, there were so many that they were stacked in a pile that covered his face. He said something inaudible.
"Hey sweetie, do you, like, need any help with that?" Ruki stepped forward in concern to help Reita.
"No, no! Reita's fine!" Ruki's mom waved a hand of impatience. "Unless of course, he's not manly enough to handle those packages. ARE you, Reita? ARE YOU?" She squelched up one eye and leaned forward to the quivering pile of parcels.
Reita twisted his neck around the pile to meet her gaze. He panted from the effort. "Yeah, sure, I'm okay." He glanced at Ruki who was trying to not giggle. Uruha smiled and turned away.
"We should bake gingerbread cookies," Uruha's mother said. "And hand out candy canes..."
"HEY! WAIT A MINUTE! What about the revenge on Mi-what's-her-name?" Ruki's mother interrupted.
"You mean, like, the bitch?" Ruki suggested.
"Yes! The bitchy bitch!"
"Right..." Uruha said.
"Oh! That will be such fun!" Uruha's mother beamed at all of them. Reita set down the presents onto the coffee table and went to the bathroom.
"Right, right. Now, I have a plan. I've got the blueprints to that weird building of hers, the numbers to the JP Weekly paparazzos and some people willing to help me." There was silence following Ruki's mother's words, at least on Uruha and Ruki's half anyway. Uruha's mother was still wrapping presents, humming softly.
"Blueprints?" Uruha asked weakly.
"And WHAT sort of people, like, are willing to help you, mom? They aren't those totally, like, wacked out people that, like, have escaped from prison, are they?" Ruki asked suspiciously.
"Not all of them."
"WHAT?!?!" Ruki and Uruha both leapt up from their seats. Uruha's mother kept on humming.
"MOM!" Ruki yelped.
"What? They aren't insane or anything... Well, they'd have to be kinda insane to help us with what I have planned out."
"This should be interesting." Uruha whispered to Ruki.
He nodded.

Uruha sat nervously in the Shizukesa building, waiting anxiously for something to happen. It seemed that Christmas was a very popular time to be born, because nurses were running around, helping those in labour.
"Oh, no." Uruha said to himself when he saw Ruki, his mother, a suspicious looking man, Miyavi, Kai and the twins coming near the door. Miyavi and Kai were in sunglasses, obviously to hide from the paparazzi that were stalking them non-stop. They entered the building inconspicuously, for everyone was too busy or too much in pain to realize that anyone had come in. Uruha watched in increasing astonishment as Ruki's mother laid a large poster-sized plan onto the coffee table and pointed every which way, at the vents, at the fountain, at the front door.
This was going to be baaad.
Getting up from his chair, Uruha decided to end this before a disaster should occur. He took a few steps, when suddenly everyone seemed to crowd around him, shouting orders and poking him.
"QUICK. IS THIS GUY GIVING BIRTH?" A large nurse with a tiny white cap stood in front of him, screaming to a tall blonde swedish woman.
"HIS WATER BROKE. I THINK HIS WATER BROKE. NEVER MIND! IT'S JUST A--" She screamed back
"I hope it's a girl." Said a little girl to her grandmother.
"It's a boy, he's holding it like a boy." She replied.
"NO---"
"--YOU--"
"CRANK 'DAT SOUL---"
" NO DANCING IN THE FOY--"
"LADIES!"
There was chaos everywhere, and worst of all, Uruha couldn't see what the group was doing anymore. "With my current luck, they just might make something explode." He muttered to himself.
There was a small boom.
Uruha smacked his forehead. He spoke too soon. Everyone started screaming, or rather, adding to the screaming already happening. Uruha looked around frantically for Ruki and the rest, hoping they were okay. There was smoke building up, and a terrible stench filling the building. Uruha saw that in the corner of his eye, the suspicious looking man was setting off stink-bombs. The smoke detectors found the gas, and was now making irritating beeping noises, as well as activating the sprinklers. Water was now spraying everywhere, on the expensive couches, onto the patients, onto everyone in general.
"TO THE HOSPITAL!" Someone cried out, and it was pandemonium.
Stretchers and guerneys full of people in labour spilled out of the front doors, with others pushing, pulling, talking, yelling, crying and jumping behind them.
And then, just when things couldn't get any worse, the paparazzi appeared. They seemed to find out where Kai and Miyavi were and started to furiously take pictures at the front door of them evacuating the Shizukesa. Uruha followed the crowd, not that he had a choice, everybody soaking wet from the still-active sprinklers.
He glanced back.
Uruha managed to make out the image of a drenched Midori, stepping out of her office and looking around her building. Behind her, the trees were knocked down, and a hysterical someone seemed to have crashed through the window, leaving a person-shaped hole in the glass. One of the couches had been turned to its side and the building was deserted. Leaves scattered the spotty floors.
"ARGHHH!" Midori screamed and yelled out. Uruha stood there, in utter shock. The crowd left him behind and Midori spotted him.
"YOU." She growled, stepping quickly towards Uruha, who was terrified. Uruha looked around helplessly, for someone to help him. Ruki and his mother appeared from the doorway once they saw that Uruha and Midori were still inside.
"YOU DID THIS! YOU GOT JEALOUS, DIDN'T YOU? NASTY LITTLE BRAT. AOI DOESN'T LOVE YOU. GET THAT IN YOUR TINY HEAD!"
Midori had this insane spark in her eye, to go along with the snarl on her face.
"Oh, no, that girl just DID NOT." Ruki raised his eyebrows and crossed his arms.
"Oh, no, sweetheart." Ruki's mother stepped forward, so that her face was mere inches away from Midori's. "You have got issues, you know. I suggest you leave Uruha alone, before something else happens to you! Also, double your medication, hun." Grabbing Uruha and Ruki by the arms, they stepped out of the ruined Shizukesa.
~
When they got back to the house, everyone sat in the living room. Kai sat next to Miyavi, who had Itoshii in his lap, and Uruha's mother played with Miyabi.
"That was fun." Ruki smiled and crossed his legs.
"That was horrible! Never do that again!" Uruha buried his face in his hands.
"Oh ho ho, my dear. That was phase one." Ruki's mother informed him, and Uruha's mother nodded.
"PHASE ONE?" Uruha went deeper into his hands. Miyabi clapped his hands, giggled and looked positively delighted at the fact that there was more to come.
"Calm down, Uruha dear. It's not good for the baby to be agitated." Uruha looked up and his mother patted his shoulder.
"What do you guys have planned?" Uruha asked nervously.
Kai looked at Miyavi and responded.
"Oh, a bit of this, a bit of that."
Ruki nodded and rested his head on Uruha's lap.
Uruha groaned.
"Uruha, sweetheart, I forgot to tell you. Aoi called this morning."
"Really?" Uruha stood up and Ruki fell off the couch.
"Yes, he's coming back tomorrow night, he says."
"OH! Aya! That means we have to go home tomorrow morning!!" Ruki's mother said.
"How come?" Ruki asked from the floor.
"To be secretive. We don't want him to know we were here!"
"After all, we didn't even tell Reita about what we were doing because Reita would tell Aoi." Uruha's mother added.
"Err... Should I be listening to all this?" Miyavi asked.
"I suppose not." Uruha's mother said serenely.
"We should put him to sleep." Ruki's mother suggested.
Miyavi jumped up in fear and handed Itoshii to Kai.
"Just kidding!" Ruki put in hastily. "They were just kidding!! RIGHT, mom?"
"Sure, sure."
"Just when things were getting started, too!" Uruha's mother said regretfully.
"Another time, Aya, another time."
Uruha and Ruki glanced at each other. When will this other time be?
