Tasting: Owen Roe Sharecropper's Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Jan 22, 2010 14:53

Conditions: Pop & pour, no food
Appearance: No off colors, clear
Nose: pencil shavings, spice, deep red fruit. No bad notes.
Taste: Nice Cab flavors, nice acids, medium body, European in style, balanced. Bit short on the finish - but maybe I'm just being difficult.
Overall: Good value. I'd like to try this with food...

Score: 90

Oh wow! Glad you enjoyed it!I think it is one of our lesser efforts, but it certainly has started to find its feet of late. Cheers to you!!!

I still have a bit left from three days ago and it STILL does not taste oxidized! Some backbone this one has. It tasted best on the second day. "Toasty."

To my taste, this is much better than the one you sent. I will definitely be buying more of this. I opened a 2005 Haut Bergey a couple of days before this wine. Turns out I opened it way too early. Tasted much better the 2nd day. But was oxidized on the 3rd. So I am very surprised that the Sharecropper's held up so much better.

You say this is a "lesser" effort? Can you give me your ranking of the various OR cabs?
