My dad and step-mom have a shared e-mail account, I've noticed this is not uncommon with the older folks using e-mail outside of work. I can't even fathom a shared e-mail account. A shared e-mail account seems about as a practical as shared underwear to me ( Read more... )

You mean with the shared phone numbers? I'm surprised there aren't more phone companys that offer you a cel/home phone package with the same phone number for couples and families. Two people get two phone numbers, they each get a cel phone, and each one also rings your home phone - probably with different rings.

My parents have a shared email account. But in reality it's just my mom's email account. My dad utterly refuses to converse with anyone on email.

My dad actually likes e-mail, but the fear I have is that I will send him an e-mail and then my step-mom will respond. It's pretty annoying.
