Today's words kids in my English class didn't know:

• Rigid
• Diminish
• Trite
• Commonplace

How do they not know these words but pass vocabulary tests containing vacillate, austere & ubiquitous?

The best was the following
Kid who sits next to me: "What does Al-oh-verr mean?" (pronounced like Oliver)
Teacher: "You mean all over?"

Words that 16 & 17 year olds in my AP English class didn't know this week, to their credit most of them were asked about by one kid...who sits next to me:

• nomadic (he asked if Don Quixote was)
• apathy
• cordial
• frail

I passed my driving test!

I didn't have to parallel park or really park at all, just pull up to a curb. I really didn't have to do much at all.

But I did drive on the freeway with Taylor. I just got on an entrance ramp, drove down that right lane to the exit ramp and got off. But I did it twice!
