The view was also really beautiful at night. I tried to take a picture of it, but the lights would always make it turn out blurry.

Sounds like a really good program. I should try to find something similar for Mandarin, or at least some kind of class.

Immersion is really the best teacher. When you're forced to speak it, you will learn it. I hope you find a class or something!
