Going to Chaco Town
I shipped my Chaco Z/2 sandals back to Chaco to be re-soled yesterday. I'm pretty excited since I haven't worn them in almost a year, due to having worn all the way through the soles in both sandals. The Roof
We finally got an estimate this morning for installing a metal roof on our house in Newaygo - about $7500. It's about 3 times as much as a regular shingle roof, but it's supposed to last for about 50 years, so I would consider it a good investment. More Gardens and Weird Bugs
We stopped by mom's house today and saw what appeared to be a hummingbird at her lilac bush. It was very tiny though, and had odd colors. Mike identified it as a hummingbird moth.

More Stuff We're Fixing!
I started tearing off the back roof of the garage yesterday. It was all rotten and we could see daylight coming through in several places. After a couple of hours of pulling off boards and shingles and shingle underlayment, I went out to ye olde local hardware store for some 2x4s to reinforce the support beams. Mike and I took a day off from our intense gardening and housework schedule to go hunting for morels (muh-RELL) up north of Newaygo. We didn't find any, but I did almost step on this snake.

I am DYING to get out of East Lansing. I'm also [dying] of a cold, which is just making me cranky. Totally looking forward to playing house in Newaygo for the next few months.
