i have returned to the apt armed with damprid (thanx aquaregis, though you were right, that stuff is scary! it is currently half crystal/half liquid!) and more fans. the last two days, we have been averaging 6 gallons of water removed from the air per day!! the mold no longer surprises me, our lack of gills does though.
